Aquiles Priester has announced the first edition of his drum festival, which bears his name. The Aquiles Priester Drum Festival will take place on August 29th and will feature big names from the music world.
The festival was created after a series of successful live streams by the drummer with other colleagues – and idols – such as Nicko McBrain and Deen Castronovo . Now, in the first edition of the event, Aquiles will be joined by a list of great drummers at Tom Brasil, in São Paulo – the event will follow all the recommendations of health organizations.
“I was very happy when all these drummers agreed to participate in the festival, because this is a unique event that celebrates the unity of drumming in Brazil. Especially because they will all play a song on my drum kit. Drums are a very personal instrument, and the mere fact that they accepted shows the strength of the unity among Brazilian drummers. I am sure that this festival will be a watershed moment, and I believe it will be just the first,” said Aquiles in a statement released to the press.
All the drummers were chosen through voting and will play an Octopus drum kit, one of the largest drum kits ever manufactured by their sponsor Mapex, a brand with 30 years of history.
