Guns N' Roses' album "Appetite for Destruction" was voted the best album celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017, with 36% of the votes. In second and third place were Helloween's "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1" and Anthrax's "Among The Living" with 14% and 11% respectively.

Guns N' Roses' first album was released in July 1987 and became the best-selling debut album of all time, with 18 million copies sold in the US alone. Featuring seven singles, the album remained on the Billboard Top 200 for 147 weeks, including 4 weeks at number one. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, "Appetite For Destruction" is also one of the best-selling albums of all time.

The album also became famous for its controversial original cover, which was censored for depicting an apparent rape scene. The band then re-released the album with the famous Celtic cross in its place, and the original image inside.
