Apocalyptica has confirmed that they will return to Brazil as part of a Latin American tour, scheduled to take place in the first half of 2023.
Confirmation of a tour in our country was made in a recent interview with Wikimetal , in which drummer Mikko Sirén spoke about the possibility of a second tour of Latin America next year.
“Yes, we’re going back to Latin America. I don’t have the dates here, but it will be next year, in the first half of the year. We have at least one – maybe even two – tours in Latin America, and that’s one of the great pieces of news we’re excited about. I didn’t remember it had been so long since we were there, it’s ridiculous. Of course, there was that damn COVID that ruined everything, but we’re going! I can’t say cities or dates, but we’re going and we’re very excited,” he said.
Recently, journalist José Norberto Flesch shared that the Finnish band will be announced as part of the line-up for the Summer Breeze Festival , which will take place at the Memorial da América Latina (São Paulo) on April 29 and 30, 2023.
The first dates for Apocalyptica's 2023 Latin American tour have been revealed: the band will perform in Lima, Peru, on April 25th , and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 30th . If the band is booked for the Summer Breeze Festival , the performance will take place on Saturday, April 29th.
Regarding her expectations for the shows in Brazil, Sirén expressed great excitement. “Overall, South America is one of our favorite continents to tour on simply because of the people. Of course, each country is very different, but there are also similarities in the passion people feel for music and for life in general. It’s mind-blowing. It’s super inspiring to be there,” she said.
