Mikko Sirén , formerly the drummer for Apocalyptica , is no longer part of the band.
The group published a statement on their social media explaining the musician's departure: "Some of you may have already seen us playing without our drummer Mikko Siren in Brazil and Mexico earlier this year... or heard rumors to that effect."
“We are very sorry to inform you that we have amicably parted ways with Mikko after 20 years. Recording our next album was our last collective achievement. Furthermore, we want to assure you all that we – Eicca , Perttu , and Paavo – will continue as Apocalyptica. We wish Mikko happiness and success in all his future endeavors!!”
New album from Apocalyptica
In an exclusive interview with Wikimetal , Eicca Toppinen revealed that the next Apocalyptica album is already finished: "We were working on it all last year."
He gave few details about the work, saying that fans could expect "something unexpected and very exciting," but did not reveal the names of the vocalists who will be featured on the album.
