Apocalyptica's last album was released in 2016
Finnish cellists Apocalyptica will begin recording a new album, the successor to Shadowmaker, released in 2015.
The band has spent the last two years touring in support of the re-release of the album Plays Metallica By Four Cellos .
In an interview with NorthJersey.com , Eicca Toppinen said that the band is "hungry to write new music in a few months."
Shadowmaker was the band's first album to feature only one vocalist, Franky Perez . Before that, Apocalyptica released eight albums where they blended the cello with rock elements and featured guest vocalists such as Gavin Rossdale of Bush and Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour.
