In July, Anthrax celebrated their 40th anniversary with a YouTube documentary series and a 2.5-hour live music event . Now, the band is complementing the occasion with the release of a special anniversary whiskey.
The drink is named Anthrax XL ('40' in Roman numerals), and it is a bourbon finished for 40 days in a 20-year-old Oloroso Sherry cask. Only one barrel of the whisky was produced, yielding 400 bottles.
Each bottle features the signatures of the band members and is wrapped in a velvet gift bag packaged with the Anthrax XL for a suggested price of $155. An additional 40 limited edition bottles will be sold for $350, accompanied by a custom box and a golden ticket guaranteeing access to an Anthrax show in the consumer's area, with a meet and greet included, during the 2022 tour.
