Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has revealed that he will be releasing an exclusive guitar pedal in partnership with KHDK Electronics .
SGT D pedal is named and styled after the mascot Sargent D from Ian's thrash band, Stormtroopers of Death . This two-in-one pedal functions as a boost/pre-distortion EQ control and has another section for amp modeling that emulates the tones from the guitarist's era in SOD. Finally, as you play, the tip of Sargent D's cigar lights up red.
“Take this if you want to stop shitting in people’s ears with the tone of your ass,” Scott Ian politely states in the product description, which is limited to only 250 pieces and is already sold out. If one of the lucky ones who managed to secure one tries to profit from it on places like eBay , the artist has a message for you: “I’ll stab you in the liver.”
