"It was the best show I've ever seen!"
Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian recounted attending an AC/DC concert in New York during Axl Rose's tour with the band.
Ian reveals that when he learned that the Guns N' Roses vocalist would replace Brian Johnson in AC/DC, he didn't believe it would be a good idea, "I'm a huge AC/DC fan so I thought it was strange that Brian was being left out. It was hard to accept."
He goes on to recount that he was near New York on his day off during an Anthrax tour when he learned that AC/DC would be performing in the city that same night. The guitarist reveals that he watched a video of Axl Rose singing “Riff Raff” with the band and was impressed: “It was perfect!”
And then the guitarist decided to watch the show. "It was two and a half hours of pure perfection ," he says, "It was the best AC/DC show I've ever seen." He explains that the setlist was incredible and Axl's voice was incomparable.
Brian Johnson had to step away from the band in 2016 when his doctors warned him about possible hearing loss. Malcolm Young retired in 2014 after revealing he suffered from dementia and passed away at age 64 in November 2017.
Currently, Angus Young is the only original member of the band still active and has not yet revealed what his plans for the future are.
