Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante revealed that the band's next studio album is expected to be released in 2022. The musician shared the news during his appearance on the American radio Wired In The Empire on KCAL 96.7 .

During the interview, he revealed that the album's release had to be postponed due to the pandemic. "We're still working on the material. Covid kind of messed everything up, in a way," he said.

“We didn’t want to release an album during this time because we didn’t do it just to get lost and be sucked into this vacuum caused by Covid.” Finally, Charlie was asked if the band’s fans can expect the new album next year and he replied: “Yes. That’s what it looks like.”

Anthrax's most recent album is For All Kings, released in 2016, while Benante recently released an album with some covers he did during the pandemic.
