Anthrax is preparing to return after eight years without releasing new material with a new studio album.
The information was shared during NAMM in Anaheim, California. In an interview with American Musical Supply , bassist Frank Bello enthusiastically discussed the band's future, mentioning the album and upcoming tours.
He said, via Loud!: “We have a new Anthrax album coming out soon. And it’s been about eight years… It’s been a while since we released new music. And we’re going to start touring as well.”
“The album should be released in September or October, so we have big tour plans for that time. Anyone who knows Anthrax knows what we do – we're on the road for quite a while. Right now we're planning some very big shows, but I can't talk about them yet. However, I can say that I'm very excited.”
Last November, Bello went to Dave Grohl in Northridge, California, to finish recording the bass lines for the band's upcoming album, which will be released 9 years after their last album, For All Kings (2016).
Anthrax's new album promises to feature " great songs " and a " more aggressive production ." According to Bello, the album will have intensified heaviness .
