In a recent interview with Metal Injection , Scott Ian said that Anthrax already has some songs for the new album and that they hope to return to the studio sometime in 2022.

The album will be the successor to For All Kings , and Anthrax's third since Joey Belladonna to the band. “We have some songs and all I can say is that we'll go into the studio when we're ready, which I hope will be this year. I think we're getting there. I think we have great songs and I think people will be very happy,” commented Ian.

Previously, the guitarist had commented that the composition of the new album had begun in 2019, before COVID-19, and that the pandemic had interrupted the process. “We were separated and far from each other. We revisited some demos, but we didn’t actively work on it,” he said (via Blabbermouth ).

There is still no further information about Anthrax's next release, but the band has a tour to undertake this summer in North America, which should put the recordings on the back burner.
