Scott Ian and Charlie Benante , from Anthrax , along with the group's former bassist, Dan Lilker , revived the thrash metal band Stormtroopers of Death , which was composed of the musicians. The trio performed, each from their own home, of course, the track "March of the SOD," from the group's debut album Speak English or Die (1985).

After many ups and downs, the band released their last project, Rise of the Infidels, in 2007, and a special edition of their first album in 2016, when it turned 30 years old.

After 13 years, the trio reunites (virtually) during quarantine, and Scott Ian sends a tweet "signed" by Sgt. D. , the character who inspired Scott Ian to create the band: "A message from Sgt. D. – Quaran-f*ckin-tine , you're on my list."
