Anthrax begins recording new album: "Lots of good stuff is coming"

The album, which follows 'For All Kings', does not yet have a release date.

Anthrax revealed last Monday, the 1st, that they have begun recording their 12th studio album. The project, still without further details, is the successor to For All Kings (2016).

“We started recording the new album last week and the first session was incredible! The songs are killer, challenging and so much fun to play, a real Riff-O-Rama. The 1986-style tones are great. I can't wait for you all to hear what we're doing,” guitarist Scott Ian on social media.

Drummer Charlie Benante added: “We went into the studio and started recording our new album. I feel the songs are on another level by our standards. The first batch I recorded was a bit challenging in terms of my drumming. The next one will be recorded while juggling my schedule with Pantera . I can't wait, there's a lot of good stuff coming! The persistence in spreading the euphoric music we love among all of you Kings (and Queens) has always been our mission” (via Blabbermouth ).

Scott, Charlie, and bassist Frank Bello are working on the tracks alongside producer Jay Ruston , which will then be recorded by vocalist Joey Belladonna and guitarist Jonathan Donais .

Previously, Anthrax had already promised great songs on their next album that would make people happy , as well as a "more aggressive" production .

The project was initially scheduled for release in 2022 , but plans changed. "The pandemic delayed everything, and when we came back, those songs already sounded old," said Benante. "So, we decided to work on them a little more" (via Igor Miranda ).
