drummer Charlie Benante released Silver Linings a covers album he recorded during the pandemic. The work features reinterpretations of U2, Fleetwood Mac, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Billie Eilish and more.

Benante enlisted the help of several names from rock, metal, and rap to record his album. Some of the guests include Alex Skolnick (guitarist for Testament ), Frank Bello (bassist for Anthrax), Rob Caggiano (guitarist for Volbeat ), Mark Osegueda (vocalist for Death Angel ), Ra Diaz (bassist for Suicidal Tendencies ) , Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (one of the founders of RUN-DMC ), and Corey Glover (vocalist for Living Colour ).

Speaking about the new project, the drummer revealed that the idea to record the work came during the pandemic: “In February of last year, with Covid and all the other shit that was going on, I was glued to the TV and my phone 24 hours a day watching the news, so I started to get really depressed. My girlfriend [ Carla Harvey, vocalist of Butcher Babies ] said I needed to switch off from the news and suggested I do something creative, whether it was art, playing drums or writing new songs, and she was right.”
