It seems Anitta Glamour magazine revealed about "Boys Don't Cry," the singer's upcoming release. Is it true?
According to the magazine's description, the new song promises to surprise audiences with its "part punk, part rock, and incredibly pop" sound, and comes with a music video inspired by horror films like Dawn of the Dead Tim Burton 's classic Beetlejuice .
“I’ve always been a huge fan of the band Panic! At The Disco , and that was my reference. I showed them my favorite album of theirs and we made the song based on my passion for the group,” the singer said. “It’s me, a different Anitta, that nobody has ever seen. Of all the songs I’ve ever made, this is my favorite.”
Known for her career in funk and pop, Anitta has stated in an interview that she was a rocker in her youth and was photographed wearing t-shirts from various bands, from Kiss to the Sex Pistols . “I was a rocker. I dressed all in black, listened to bands nobody knew, had piercings, stretched earlobes and everything. I started singing funk by fate. I put a video on the internet singing and dancing funk, joking around, imitating people, doing little skits, clowning around,” she told R7 in 2017 (via Agenda do Rock ). “Even though I listened to rock, I listened to everything. I changed styles.”
