Last Friday, October 2nd, Sepultura performed on Metal Day at Rock In Rio and opened the World Stage playing alongside the  Brazilian Symphony Orchestra .

In an interview with Gshow backstage, the band talked about this mix of musical styles, and the subject ended up touching on Anitta . The singer made history last week by being the first Brazilian artist to win a VMA , which she won in the Best Latin Music Video category. She was also the first Brazilian to perform at the awards ceremony.

When asked what they thought about it, drummer Eloy Casagrande didn't hesitate to answer: “We think it's incredible […] We're very proud because it's our music. I think we have to break down these style barriers. It's a Brazilian artist. We're part of the same team. We want nothing more than for Brazil to be played all over the world and be part of world culture.”

The question then arose about the possibility of Sepultura ever collaborating with Anitta, and the band didn't rule it out. "Sepultura is always open to possibilities," replied Andreas Kisser . "We're not afraid, we're not scared of anything. It's what Eloy said: everything is art, everything is music. Everything is possible."

Life without Patricia Kisser

The interview also touched on a sensitive subject by mentioning Patricia Perissinotto Kisser , wife of Andreas Kisser, who passed away at age 52 in July due to colon cancer.

Briefly, Andreas spoke about the feeling of loss, but also about the sensation of playing at Rock In Rio without his wife. “Everything is different now. A part of it goes with her,” he said. “Obviously, being on stage, playing, being with friends and family is very important for this resumption of life.”

Recently, the guitarist from Sepultura announced PatFest , a benefit festival celebrating Patricia's life. The event will raise funds for the Compassionate Community , an institution that provides palliative care for vulnerable people in communities in Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.

The lineup will consist of artists who were always on Patrícia's playlists, as well as friends. Among these artists are Sandy , Dinho Ouro Preto , Samuel Rosa , Nando Reis , Chitãozinho e Xororó , and friends from the project Os Pitais , which brings music to hospitals and charitable institutions. The festival will be hosted by Marisa Orth and Serginho Groisman .

Tickets are on sale at the Ticket360 website starting at R$ 30.
