Tony Bellotto , guitarist for the band Titãs , chose pop star Anitta as the artist with the most rock 'n' roll attitude currently, responding that if rock were a person in 2022, it would certainly be the Rio de Janeiro singer.
The musician answered this question for Rolling Stone Brazil in celebration of World Rock Day (via Igor Miranda ), and explained: “I don’t see anyone more rock and roll than Anitta these days. I think Anitta has everything we’ve become accustomed to seeing as the revolutionary force of rock 'n' roll,” he said.
Among the reasons for this choice is the “disturbing sensuality that was in Elvis [Presley] in the 1950s is now in Anitta's hips,” the “progressive attitude” of doing what she wants and being a determined woman, in a posture that concentrates “the rock n' roll spirit” of Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Rita Lee , says Bellotto, who considers rock as a lifestyle, far beyond just “a musical formula.”
