Angra releases single “Tide of Changes” from new album; listen here

The track features a special appearance by singer Vanessa Moreno.

On Friday the 15th, Angra released the single "Tide of Changes" from their 10th album , Cycles of Pain

The track, which follows "Ride Into The Storm," features a special appearance by singer Vanessa Moreno and a music video that you can watch at the end of this article.

Speaking about the song, guitarist and composer Rafael Bittencourt explained: “The lyrics of 'Tide of Changes' were the first I wrote for the album Cycles of Pain and portray exactly what the title suggests: the countless tides of change that contradict our expectations. We are living in a time of great instability and, while our ego seeks comfort and control, we are forced to adapt to this impermanence, learning to surf the waves of destiny by making our plans more flexible.”

The video was directed by Leo Liberti , who has previously worked with Dee Snider, Europe, Megadeth Angra themselves on “Black Widow's Web” and “Ride Into the Storm.” Explaining the concept of the video, he says: “It’s a metaphor about change. A woman is led to live another experience, in this case, a multidimensional one. She undergoes mutations – both physical and spiritual – to explore new horizons; in other words, her composition needed to be altered to live new realities. When this happens, the world she inhabited is destroyed.”

The album Cycles of Pain will be released in Japan on November 1st by JVC, and on November 3rd in the rest of the world by Atomic Fire Records.

Angra and Cycles of Pain

This is the first time that Angra has repeated the band's lineup on two consecutive albums since 2006. The group currently consists of Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Bruno Valverde (drums), the same configuration responsible for the album Ømni (2018) .

Cycles of Pain will feature several special guests, including singer Amanda Somerville and pianist Juliana D'Agostini on "Tears of Blood," MPB legend Lenine on "Vida Seca," and Vanessa Moreno on "Tide Of Changes – Part II" and "Here In The Now."

The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Dennis Ward , who worked on classic Angra albums such as Rebirth and Temple of Shadows . The cover art was inspired by experiments with Artificial Intelligence and later finalized by Eric Pasqua , while Jonathan Canuto handled the layout.
