Angra released this Friday, the 4th, the single “Ride Into the Storm”, the first single from their upcoming studio album Cycles of Pain , scheduled for November 3rd.
To celebrate the new release, the band has made a music video available, which you can watch at the end of this article, along with the album cover and tracklist. The video was directed by Leo Liberti , who has worked with big names in heavy metal such as Dee Snider, Europe , and Megadeth.
In a statement released to the press, the group highlighted that the opening choir was inspired by Renaissance composers and recorded by young singers Turí and Tefo Mion , son of presenter Marcos Mion . There is also a choir formed by the voices of Fernanda Lira ( Crypta ), May Puertas ( Torture Squad ), Karina Menasce ( Allen Key ), Angel Sberse (ex- Malvada ), Nando Fernandes ( Sinistra ), BJ ( Spektra , Soto ), Caio MacBeserra ( Project46 ) and the guitarist himself, Rafael Bittencourt.
Cycles of Pain is the band's 10th studio album and their first album of original material to feature the same lineup since Aurora Consurgens (2006). The current lineup consists of Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass), and Bruno Valverde (drums), the same configuration responsible for its predecessor, Ømni (2018).
The album will feature several special guests, including singer Amanda Somerville and pianist Juliana D'Agostini on "Tears of Blood," MPB legend Lenine on "Vida Seca," and Vanessa Moreno on "Tide Of Changes – Part II" and "Here In The Now."
The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Dennis Ward , who worked on classic Angra albums such as Rebirth and Temple of Shadows . The cover art was inspired by experiments with Artificial Intelligence and later finalized by Eric Pasqua, while Jonathan Canuto handled the layout.
