To reward their fans, Angra has released another surprise, launching a music video of another live performance to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary. This time, the chosen track is "Running Alone," from the band's 2001 album, Rebirth .
“This was one of the first lyrics I wrote for the Rebirth that we prepared to deliver to record labels with the intention of convincing them that we could move forward without Andre Matos and the other former bandmates. I tell a story that, metaphorically, was what Angra and I were experiencing, a rebirth. I put a lot of emotion into it and the guys from the record labels supported making an album about the group's own reconstruction,” explained Rafael Bittencourt .
“I generally create fictional events to relate things I’m experiencing, without being specific, so people can see the issues in their own realities. In 'Running Alone', 'The captain left before dawn', that line was about Andre leaving the band, but today I get emotional knowing that he left before things became clear between us,” said the guitarist and vocalist.
Last month, the band also shared a performance of the track "Newborn Me" and "Heroes of Sand ," a collaboration with singer Sandy .
