Angra Fest 2023 takes place in March with Angra, Matanza Ritual and VIPER

The fourth edition of the festival will be held in Rio de Janeiro

Angra Fest is a festival conceived by the band Angra that features a mix of music, culture, and attitude, taking place in various cities across Brazil. The 4th edition will be held in 2023, returning to the circuit with the aim of supporting the unity of rock music in the country.

The event will take place in Rio de Janeiro on March 12, 2023, and will feature performances by the bands Angra, Matanza Ritual , and Viper . Tickets are on sale at bilheto.com .

Angra

Formed in 1991, the group currently consists of musicians Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass), and Bruno Valverde (drums). Known for being among the biggest names in Brazilian heavy metal worldwide, the musicians of Angra have released acclaimed albums and built a glorious career.

Currently, the group is performing shows to celebrate their 30th anniversary, playing their greatest hits and recording a new studio album to be released in 2023.

Ritual Slaughter

Formed by a team of national rock stars such as Jimmy London (vocals), Antônio Araújo (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Amílcar Christofáro (drums), Matanza Ritual performed shows throughout Brazil during 2022. At Angra Fest, Ritual will feature bassist Juninho ( Ratos de Porão) replacing Felipe Andreoli.

Regarding the band, vocalist Jimmy London emphasizes: “Ritual was born because the need to purge our demons never dies. Each show is an exorcism of the crap we go through every day, and we use art to vomit out all the bad things and leave sweaty, happy, and tired.”

He further adds: “Our idea is not to form a band, or even a project. We want to create a celebration, to relive that 'insane ritual' that happened at Matanza shows, and for that we've called upon the best of the best musicians in the country to be the monks of all this madness.”.

VIPER

VIPER was formed in 1985 and two years later released Soldiers of Sunrise , a landmark in the history of Brazilian rock. The group's history is impressive because the members, with an average age of 16, possessed a musical quality far exceeding what was expected for their age and the time.

Considered one of the great national heavy metal bands, they recently released the single "Under The Sun" , their first new song in 15 years. Currently, the group's lineup consists of Leandro Caçoilo (vocals), Felipe Machado (guitar), Pit Passarel (bass), Guilherme Martin (drums), and Kiko Shred (guitar).
