Angra goes on indefinite hiatus

The band concluded their 'Temple of Shadows' tour last Sunday, August 3rd

Angra announced this Tuesday, the 5th, an indefinite hiatus from their activities. The last show took place on Sunday, the 3rd, in São Paulo, with a full house and a temporary farewell atmosphere, as reported by Wikimetal : “With an impeccable performance from each member, the last show of the Temple of Shadows – 20th Anniversary Tour was a reminder of the strength of national metal.”

In a statement published on social media, the band announced that this is the time for a necessary break: “We will definitely miss the stage, since we've been performing non-stop for 13 years, and we need this time to rest. But we are already imagining what the next adventures could be to enjoy with you.”.

The statement also includes a special thank you to the fans and the technical team: “We love you all, we love what we do, we love music! We hope this break won't be long and that we'll be back soon. We don't want to set dates, but let it be when it has to be.”

The international tour covered more than 20 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia, with highlights including the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, sold-out dates in Japan, and an extensive schedule in Brazil. In total, there were 98 shows that reaffirmed Angra's strength and relevance as one of the pillars of Brazilian metal on the world stage.
