“Aqua was inspired by William Shakespeare’s The Tempest , ” explained guitarist and one of the band’s founders, Rafael Bittencourt, in a statement released to the press. “The story takes place on an island, and the water represents the emotions and transformations in the characters’ lives.”

“I find the album very current and relevant, because this year people have found themselves isolated, confined, with their routines turned upside down, confused and in a turmoil of emotions. Amidst the fury of the waters and the transformations, there is a message of hope and learning that can inspire everyone at this time.”
