A book analyzing the written and literary aspects of Angra has been released by the Federal University of Paraná. However, to fully analyze the band's three-decade career, this is only the first of a series of three books. * The Weight of Metal – Through a Baroque Storm *, written by Victor André Pinheiro Cantuário , highlights the literary characteristics of the lyrics .
The analysis of the albums from the 1990s is in the first book. During this period, the band released the epic albums Angels Cry (1993), Holy Land (1996), and Fireworks (1998). But the first of these is still considered by critics to be the greatest work of Maestro Andre Matos , who was the band's vocalist at the time.
The book meticulously analyzes the lyrics of each Angra album. Therefore, it provides a lyrical and literary analysis, comparing aspects of the Baroque artistic movement with the lyrics of the power metal band.
