Angie Barnett , actress, model, and ex-wife of David Bowie, criticized Stardust , the new biopic about the English singer. According to her, who was married to the star from 1970 to 1980, the production is a "total waste of time" and "sadder than a documentary about a star."

In an interview with The Mirror , Angie commented on the documentary, criticizing the fact that it doesn't include any of the musician's music. This is due to the disapproval of the musician's family, especially his son Duncan Jones, who manages his father's legacy. "If you want to watch a film without any of his music or without the blessing and permission of the family, that's your choice," he said at the time the film was released.

Angie said that “Bowie would never have watched the film.” “The only people who would watch it are people obsessed with celebrities. Bowie was a musician. And where was the music?” she questioned. She also criticized the fact that some details about their marriage were altered in the film, especially the scene showing an argument between them after Bowie returned to London after his huge success in the US. “It wasn’t like that at all. Our marriage wasn’t on the verge of collapse. That came much later (…) I wanted his career to be amazing and I wanted to pursue my dreams of directing and acting.”

At the end of the article, Angie described Stardust as a "boring film and a total waste of time".

Stardust features Johnny Flynn as David Bowie, Jena Malone as Angie, and Marc Maron as advertising executive Rob Oberman, and is directed by Gabriel Range. The film is available on the São Paulo International Film Festival website.
