Angela Gossow insists she is not the new vocalist for Arch Enemy

Angela, a member of the band between 2000 and 2013, shared a message on social media

Angela Gossow stated this Monday, the 16th, that she will not return to singing for Arch Enemy . She was a member of the band between 2000 and 2013.

In a comment on an Arch Enemy post, Angela stated that she is not the band's new vocalist. "It's not me. But thank you for all the love. I'm very excited to be actively involved in this new chapter as manager. It's going to be AMAZING!", said the former vocalist.

To date, Arch Enemy has not announced a new lineup. In November, the Swedish band announced the departure of Alissa White-Gluz , who had been the vocalist since 2014. According to Bangers Open Air, the band's new lineup will be revealed soon.

The band will headline Bangers Open Air 2026 , performing on Saturday, April 25th. According to the festival, the band is "one of the most requested names in all editions".

Rumors point to Mayara Puertas as the vocalist

Rumors about Brazilian Mayara Puertas being the new vocalist for Arch Enemy gained traction on social media after an enigmatic post by the artist that coincided with the announcement of the band's show at the Bangers Open Air 2026 Soon after, Angela Gossow, former vocalist and current manager of the band, liked the post and started following Mayara Puertas.

However, in an exclusive interview with Wikimetal , the Torture Squad stated that she will not be the new vocalist for Arch Enemy.

“No, I’m not the vocalist for Arch Enemy. This all started on the internet; people associated one of my posts with me. I’m a big fan of Arch Enemy, I follow their work, I admire Angela a lot, and I feel inspired by her work. But I’m happy, I thank people, especially the support from fans in Latin America, who chose me as Alissa’s successor. It would be amazing to imagine all this. And I’m very grateful,” she said. Mayara also confirmed she is working on a new album with her band Torture Squad: “I continue working hard here with my band here in Brazil.”.
