Andy Anderson , former drummer of The Cure , has revealed that he is battling terminal cancer.

Anderson joined the band in 1983 after drummer Lol Tolhurst switched to keyboards. He was involved in the album The Top . He also participated in the album Japanese Whispers , the singles "Love Cats" and "The Caterpillar".

He used his Facebook account to reveal the diagnosis. “Hi everyone. I have stage 4 terminal cancer. And there’s no going back from it. It’s completely covering the inside of my body. I’m totally fine and aware of my situation,” he wrote, informing that he will not be undergoing treatment for the disease.

"No whining here, just be positive. For me, it's just another experience in life. Take care. I'm definitely positive about the situation," he concluded.
