Andreas Kisser , guitarist for Sepultura , who lost his wife, Patricia Perissinotto Kisser , in July 2022, was asked if her passing influenced the band's decision to embark on a farewell tour, during an interview with Loud TV .
Kisser responds that yes, "definitely," claiming that the process was "very painful, very difficult," but it opened doors to new experiences of self-knowledge and "talking about life" due to the concept of death.
“Brazil is one of the worst places to die,” Kisser continues, saying that “many people are forgotten by society, going through the same problems with cancer and other very complicated diseases.”
The guitarist reflects on life and its meaning, comparing it to films, books, and even the interview he was giving, saying, "If it doesn't have an end, it has no meaning." Kisser asks that the act of living be respected, "Let's be human and respect finitude, respect death."
Andreas Kisser is the organizer of PatFest , a festival that aims to promote palliative care for people in vulnerable situations, in the same way that it was provided to his wife.
