Andreas Kisser played with Sepultura for the first time since the death of his wife, Patrícia , on July 3rd . The performance took place last Wednesday, the 27th, during the Garanhuns Winter Festival in Pernambuco.
Patricia Perissinoto Kisser passed away at age 52 after a battle with colon cancer. Andreas and their children Giulia , Yohan , and Enzo announced the news on social media. The guitarist remembered his wife as his "best friend and inspiration." The couple had been together for 32 years.
At the end of last month , Andreas revealed that he would be stepping away from Sepultura's European tour due to a family emergency. He was replaced by Jean Patton of Project46.
After the show in San Jose, Andreas posted a photo with the band and the audience saying that “it was good to be back.” Vocalist Derrick Green posted a video of Andreas playing with the caption: “Good to have you back!”
Despite comments on social media, it has not been officially confirmed that Andreas will be joining Sepultura on the upcoming dates of the Quadra (2020) album tour. More information should be released soon.
