Max Cavalera left Sepultura in 1996
Max Cavalera recently said that if he could go back in time, one of the things he would have done would be to take the name Sepultura with him, "Because it was ours, we created it ." Read more here.
In an interview with Metal Wani, when asked if he had any 'thoughts or perspectives' on Max's comments, Andreas Kisser said, “No, not at all. That’s his opinion. What can I say? We did what we did. He chose his path, and we chose ours. All I can say [is] regret is a very – how can I put it? – very bad thing to feel. I see things that we might have a different opinion on, or 'Ten years ago, if I [hadn’t done] A, I should [have done] C or D' and things like that. It’s not regret. I think it’s a lesson. You need to learn from it and not cry 'Oh, I should have done this,' 'I should have done that,' and think about why things are [the way] they are now, and learn from the mistakes. In that sense, I have no regrets, I only have learning moments. Because if you regret, you’ll always be there, I don’t know, somewhere in 1996 – you won’t leave that place. Because you’ll always be thinking: 'I should have done...'” "That's it, 'I should do this and that other thing.' That's very bad for your health, it's bad for your spirit, it's bad for everything – relationships with people, everything. So I prefer to see, as I just said, that regret doesn't exist. It's just a way of learning. It's a lesson. It's not pleasant, but that's where we learn."
Sepultura continues touring in support of their latest album, Machine Messiah , released in 2017 via Nuclear Blast.
