Slipknot 's original vocalist , Anders Colsefni , has just recorded a new version of the album Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. The album, which had only 600 copies produced in 1996, was responsible for the band's recognition in the rest of the world. Therefore, for all generations, from the Crowz to the Maggot , the album is considered the "Holy Grail" of Slipknot.
Anders issued a statement about the album (via Blabbermouth ): “This album is dedicated to Joey (Jordison) and Paul (Gray) , my eternal brothers. This project completes their legacy for the Crowz . This important part of their heritage can now be heard by the Maggot of the 'KNOT family. I miss them every day and hope this tribute honors their memory and our eternal friendship. Long live 'KNOT.”
Anders Colsefni: one of the founders of Slipknot
Colsefni was one of the founding members of Slipknot, along with drummer Shawn "The Clown" Crahan . Despite all the success, he left the band shortly afterwards and joined Painface.
In 2011, Anders explained the reasons that led him to leave the band in an interview with Dose Of Metal . “Corey was a much better vocalist than me, so they brought Corey in to share vocals with me, while I also continued with the drums and percussion. I tried for two months, but after the shock of it all, I couldn't 'feel' it anymore. I just felt like an idiot thrashing around on stage in a ridiculous outfit, acting like a caveman. Depression. So, I shaved my eyebrows before my last show and announced that I'd had enough, after we played 'Heartache And A Pair of Scissors' as the closing song.”
