After some rumors that Amy Lee would be the new vocalist for Linkin Park , she denied it during an interview.

The discussions began after Jay Gordon , vocalist of Orgy , commented, also in an interview, that "I heard they have a female singer now. That's what I heard."

In an interview with iHeart Radio, she said ( via Blabbermouth ): “That’s an incredible compliment,” after being told she was a fan favorite to fill the spot. “I didn’t hear that. No, I wasn’t contacted [by Linkin Park] or anything like that. But [I’m] a huge fan, I feel like our worlds, our fanbases are basically the same people.”

She doesn't remember exactly if Evanescence and Linkin Park played together at any festival or anything like that, but: “We met. We were in the studio at the same time. When we were making Fallen , I had a brief conversation or two with Chester [ Bennington ] . He was very kind.”

She clarifies that she is not the band's new vocalist: “But no, that's not true. But that's amazing. They should ask me about it. I don't have much free time, but I can do it part-time.”
