Amy Lee talks about the success of Evanescence
Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Jen Majura were recently interviewed by Rtbf in Belgium. Asked about the band's success, Amy says: “I feel proud when I look back. I look back and see my face, especially if I see an interview or a performance when we were on the Fallen tour, and I look like a kid. I was a kid, I just lived away from my parents' house for, like, four years. So I look and think, 'Wow! What an incredibly crazy thing to happen.' And I know that, behind it all, I was juggling a lot, just adjusting emotionally and trying to keep the band together and all the crazy things that come with that.”
The band and violinist Lindsey Stirling will embark on a North American tour, with the shows accompanied by a full orchestra. Lindsey made a guest appearance on the song "Hi-Lo" from Evanescence's latest album, Synthesis . The album was released in November and features many of Evanescence's songs reworked, incorporating orchestral and electronic elements into the original compositions.
“Synthesis is a beautiful reflection of our music throughout my career, and we’ve added some new things to it ,” said Ame Lee.
