Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee spoke about how she feels knowing that her band will be opening for Metallica Oceania tour. The shows take place in November of this year and also feature Suicidal Tendencies as a guest act.

In an interview with American radio station 93X , Lee stated that she is not worried and is not afraid to perform the shows, which will take place in stadiums. The singer also declared that it will be the group's first tour in this type of venue and she knows "how things work" at events of this scale. In 2023, Evanescence performed at Allianz Parque stadium in São Paulo . This was the biggest show of the tour and the biggest solo show of the band's career up to that point.

“I’m not scared at all. But it’s our first stadium tour. We’ve done shows this big, in huge venues, but within a festival. There are so many bands, so we’re not responsible for carrying more than our share of the weight. Now it’s Metallica, so the fans are going to be excited. But at the same time, I know what these fans can be like. I’ve been in this business for a while. I know what to play and what not to play. So, we’re just going to have a great time,” she declared [transcription via Blabbermouth ].

Amy Lee also added that the tour with Metallica will be special for Evansence bassist Emma Anzai , who is from New Zealand. She stated that she is very happy for her bandmate.

“I’m very happy because Emma is from New Zealand, and we’re going to play there. So, I’m excited for her too, in a special way,” she concluded.
