Evanescence 's new album , The Bitter Truth , finally arrives on all digital platforms this Friday, the 26th. On the eve of the release of the band's first album of new material in 10 years, vocalist Amy Lee revealed her admiration for one of the biggest and newest names in current pop: Billie Eilish.
In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound , Amy Lee surprised everyone by revealing that, despite listening to all kinds of music, her favorite genre isn't rock. "I really love quality pop – like, good, dark pop," the singer said. Stating that she likes to find inspiration in various places, the singer cited Billie Eilish: "With Billie Eilish, even more than her style, which is super dark, what I really love about her is her authenticity. She's completely herself. I see a lot of things in her that remind me of myself, especially when I was younger," she added.
Billie Eilish has recently emerged as one of the most captivating names in pop, standing out for her dark sound and the sinister aesthetic of some of her music videos. In her first Grammy Awards nomination in 2020, the singer took home five gramophones and added two more to her collection recently, at the 2021 edition.
In the same interview, Amy Lee also clarified that she obviously likes rock and heaped praise on Bring Me The Horizon , POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR , in which she herself appears singing on the last track, "One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death." "I really love the new Bring Me The Horizon album. It's my favorite new rock album in a long time," she said. Remember to pre-save Evanescence's The Bitter Truth here .
