In a record-breaking poll on Wikimetal, Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee was voted the best female metal vocalist with 42% of the vote. Sharon Del Adel of Within Temptation came in second with 36%, and Tarja Turunen in third with 10%.

Amy Lee cites Mozart, Danny Elfman, and Björk as musical influences. The vocalist and songwriter studied classical piano for nine years and founded Evanescence in 1995.
