Amy Lee and Halsey thrilled fans by performing the song "Hand That Feeds" live for the first time during their show on May 14th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The track was composed for the soundtrack of Ballerina John Wick franchise , which premieres in theaters on June 6th.
The performance brought together two of the most striking voices in alternative music and surprised the audience. Backstage, the artists had already commented on their anticipation for the debut. Amy Lee stated on social media: “We are so excited to finally perform this song live. We’ve been fans of each other’s work for a long time, and it felt like the universe brought us together for this moment.”
Halsey also shared a snippet of the song with fans and confessed her excitement: "Yes, I'm freaking out about this." In fact, this admiration for Amy Lee goes back a long way. During the promotion of her 2024 album, The Great Impersonator , Halsey even recreated the iconic cover of Fallen , making evident her connection with the Evanescence vocalist since childhood.
The night at the Hollywood Bowl also featured the live debut of "Afterlife," Evanescence's new song written for the Netflix series "Devil May Cry ." Amy co-wrote the song with producer Alex Seaver (Mako) .
The current state of Evanescence
While celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic album Fallen (2003), Evanescence continues their world tour, attracting crowds wherever they go. Currently, the band features Amy Lee (vocals and keyboards), Tim McCord (guitar/bass), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitars), and Emma Anzai (bass and vocals). The group has been filling arenas in various cities and recently performed the biggest solo show of their career, gathering 40,000 fans at Allianz Parque in São Paulo .
With five studio albums, numerous hit singles, and accumulated awards, Evanescence still dominates charts like Billboard and iTunes. Their latest work, The Bitter Truth (2021), topped the charts in more than 20 countries and reaffirmed the band's relevance in the global rock scene.
