Last Tuesday, the 15th, fans attending the Halestorm concert in Vancouver, Canada, were surprised during the song "Break In." Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee joined Lzzy Hale on piano to perform the Halestorm song.
The song was originally released on Halestorm's second album, The Strange Case Of… , in 2012. That same year, Lzzy and Amy Evanescence 's Carnival Of Madness tour , which featured Halestorm as the opening act. However, in 2020, the song received a new version, based on a music video that included Amy Lee .
The friends had also previously performed “Break In” together during quarantine in May 2020 on the show Raise Your Horns With Lzzy Hale . At the time, the Halestorm explained to Amy what she loved so much about the new version of the song. “What I love about doing a duet on this song with you is that it started as a love song I wrote for my partner—but when we sing it together, it’s this act of unity, especially with both of us being women and being women musicians. It’s like we’re protecting each other. And the lyrics mean something completely different when I sing [with you].”
