These collaborations are always important, considering that Rock/Metal with female vocals needs more unity

Amy Lee and Simone Simons are considered icons in the world of Rock and Metal. The former is the vocalist of Evanescence, one of the great bands that had a huge breakthrough in the early 2000s with the hits "Bring to Life" and "My Immortal." The latter is one of the greatest exponents of Metal with a female vocalist today.
The meeting between these bands took place during a festival in Bulgaria where Epica opened for Evanescence, and later at a festival in Greece where both posted photos and messages of friendship and cooperation. These encounters are always highly anticipated by fans, as they can point to potential collaborations; however, in this case, it really surprised many people, because Epica's vocalist stated a few years ago that she didn't like comparisons with Evanescence, as they were a very commercial band, while Epica represented Metal with a more aggressive sound. This statement created some unease, especially among Evanescence fans.
The Dutch band Epica and Evanescence are essential to the music world, and these collaborations are always important, considering that Rock/Metal with female vocals needs more unity. There was already a noticeable closeness between Rock and Metal bands with female vocals in Europe, but never with Evanescence, which has always been closer to bands from the United States like Korn and Halestorm. Both vocalists posted messages of friendship on their social media, calmly praising a union between these bands. Although there are still defenders of "pure metal," these encounters are extremely important for the music world and transcend good and evil.
The important thing is not to think about a musical partnership, but rather about mutual support and unity as a weapon against the discrimination that bands with female vocals still suffer. The meeting between Simone and Amy Lee demonstrates that anything is possible and that Rock/Metal with female vocals only stands to gain from them.
