Amorphis' new album will be released on May 18th.
"The Bee" is the name of the first single from Amorphis' new album, Queen Of Time , which will be released on May 18th via Nuclear Blast.
“This song is a very powerful opening track and gives a good idea of what the whole album is about. You can already hear some new elements, such as choirs and orchestral arrangements ,” says guitarist Esa Holopainen. Vocalist Tomi Joutsen adds: “Of course, the lyrical inspiration is a bee, also in a metaphorical way. The smallest thing can sometimes be the most important thing. A bee can bring life, or if we destroy all the bees, life will stop here. It’s a very beautiful animal, which is why you can find it on the album cover as well. The track itself is kind of Prog and I’m sure it will surprise some fans in a positive way. We love it!”
The cover art was created by French artist Jean-Emmanuel Simoulin.
The band will tour North America alongside Omnium Gatherum and Moonspell.
Amorphis emerged in the 90s in Finland, and blends Prog and Death Metal. Queen Of Time will be the band's 13th album.
