Amazon US launches monthly vinyl record subscription service

The experience will involve giving away vinyl records from the 60s and 70s

Amazon has launched a monthly vinyl record subscription service in the United States called Amazon Vinyl of the Month Club one record per month from the "Golden Age of Vinyl" to its subscribers.

According to Amazon, the golden age of vinyl was between the 1960s and 1970s. The first two albums for subscribers are The Wall by Pink Floyd and London Calling by The Clash . The website explains that once subscribed, you can see which album is scheduled to arrive and there is the option to skip the product if you don't like the artist's work.

The platform will deliver one vinyl record per month for US$24.99 (approximately R$125) and will feature artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis , and Aretha Franklin.

According to a report released earlier this year by the RIAA , the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl music sales surpassed CD album sales in 2020 in the United States. This marked the first time vinyl had exceeded CD annual revenue since 1986.
