The streaming service Amazon Prime Video is offering the documentary Rock 'n Roll Icon: Mötley Crüe to its subscribers, but a mix-up led to a funny episode.

In the process of selecting the band photo for promotional material, Amazon ended up using one of Steel Panther. At the time of publication of this article, the photo has already been changed , but the error can be seen at the end of the article in a video by Michael Starr , Steel Panther's vocalist, who had fun with the situation on his social media.

It's interesting to remember that the relationship between the two bands isn't the best. In 2019, during an interview with Little Punk People , Starr (a fictional name for the character played by Ralph Saenz ) was asked which musician he would like to resurrect, and he answered Vince Neil.

“I would bring Vince Neil back. I would bring back the old Vince Neil, because that guy is dead.” Upon hearing this, bassist Nikki Sixx took offense and retorted : “The Steal Panther vocalist can go f*ck himself… do you want to be a band discrediting Vince Neil?”

Next, the official Steel Panther Twitter account posted a video in which Sixx, Mick Mars , and Tommy Lee mock Neil after he was hospitalized with broken ribs and internal injuries due to a jet ski accident. The footage is from the 1990s, a period when Vince was out of the group and his spot was filled by John Corabi.

The disagreements date back to 2011, when the two bands toured with Def Leppard . In later interviews, Michael Starr said that Sixx's group never agreed to Panther's presence in the lineup.
