Allen Blickle , the original drummer for Baroness , has died at the age of 42. Details regarding the cause of death have not been released.

In a post made on social media last Monday, the 8th, guitarist and vocalist John Baizley lamented the passing [transcription via Igor Miranda ]: “It breaks my heart to have to share the news that my dear friend, creative partner and former bandmate Allen Blickle passed away a few days ago. I am still in shock over his passing. We ask for your understanding as his family and the band come to terms with his death and grieve his loss. Allen, I love you and miss you. I will treasure every moment we shared.”

Allen Blickle was a member of Baroness between 2003 and 2013, where he recorded the group's first three studio albums, Red Album (2007) , Blue Record (2009) , and Yellow & Green (2012) . After leaving the band, the musician went on to play alongside names such as Romantic Dividends , A Place To Bury Strangers , and Alpaca .
