All artists have been inspired by some icon at some point in their lives. In the case of Alírio Netto , music became a passion after watching Freddie Mercury Queen 's performance at Rock In Rio in 1985 changed the course of the vocalist's life forever.
Some time later, young Alírio, aged 14 or 15, formed his first band with his neighborhood friends. “We did covers, played Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin , [I sang] terribly, I was just a young kid and had a duck voice,” the singer confessed in an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour .
Despite this erratic start, Alírio persevered and, thanks to his love for Mercury, began listening to classical music and great performers of world music. This immersion in such rich musical styles paved the way for the singer to begin his career in musicals, a path that led him to the stages of Queen Extravaganza with the approval of Roger Taylor and Brian May .
