During his appearance on The Wikimetal Happy Hour , Alírio Netto reminisced about his experience as a musical theater actor. Two of his main roles were in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar , where he played Jesus Christ in the Mexican version and Judas Iscariot during its run in Brazil.
“I think the musical helped me understand, through acting, how to improve my performance as an artist. Contact with the theater really makes you a more complete artist, so I am very grateful for all the experiences I had in the theater,” reflects Alírio.
“Judas was a watershed role in my life because it’s a much stronger role. I was lucky enough to win an award, my work was highly recognized, and soon after I did We Will Rock You ,” he says.
We Will Rock You is an acclaimed musical based on the songs of Queen , where Alírio received the lead role of the character Galileo and where he also met his wife, Livia Dabarian , who played the role of Scaramouche . "Look how crazy, how Queen changed my life," he comments.
Among other appearances, Alírio also recalled the moment when he starred in the rock opera Frankenstein , by Alberto Heller , a production of the Camerata Florianópolis where the main role was written specifically for him. “I was very happy. This is something that any actor and singer dreams of. I had this dream, Alberto trusted my work a lot and we filled the CIC Theater every night. There were several nights, a super production,” he details.
