Vocalist comments on the style

In an interview on radio station RAdio KSHE 95, Alice Cooper spoke about new rock bands and what differentiates them from the era when he himself was starting out. Cooper said that the newer bands don't have the same spirit as the ones from the past:

"It worries me that even the rock bands out there these days are very introverted. Young rock bands don't want to be outlaws. They don't have that stage presence.".

You know, if I were 18 and in a rock band, I would strive to show everything I have on stage. New bands seem too introverted to do that.

Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith… We grew up in a time when we had to compete with Mick Jagger. And Mick Jagger was the king of style.

That's always been how I've looked at things. Put on a great show for the audience. You're in the best style of music, put on a show! And that doesn't seem to exist with new bands. I don't understand. I think it will come in a retro wave. I think new bands will start to get tired of being so introverted.
