Alice Cooper told Metal Hammer in an interview that rock stars should stay out of political issues. The musician, who jokingly launched a political campaign , said that getting involved in politics is 'the worst idea ever' . Check out his statement:

"First of all, why do people think rock stars know more than everyone else? That's the biggest lie in the world; if we are anything, it's dumber. We're not smarter than anyone. You know, why do you think we're rock stars?"

Trust me, we don't read the magazines you don't read. Nobody calls us and gives us inside information about politics. We know less than you do. If we watch TV, we watch Family Guy.

Rock N' Roll was made to distance itself as much as possible from politics. When my parents talked about who to vote for, I would go to my room and listen to the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. And I'm still like that.”

Regarding getting involved with global issues, like many musicians, Cooper says he's in favor: "I think what Bono or Bruce Springsteen or Sting do, raising money for others, that's humanitarian, I'm totally in favor of it. But I don't think it's political."
