Alice Cooper announces new album with music about his own persona; listen to “I'm Alice”

The track opens the new album 'Road', recorded with the musician's touring band, which will be released in August

Alice Cooper is back with all the storytelling power that has captivated fans for decades in "I'm Alice," the first sample from his new album Road , announced this Wednesday, the 14th.

The track will be the first from the concept album and, according to a press release, “I'm Alice” gives a good preview of what to expect from the new record, as it was described as “setting the tone for the album with its drum beat while the guitars moan in the distance”.

In the single, Alice Cooper plays with the mystique of the character and persona he created for the stage, presenting himself as the ideal friend for those seeking fun. "I am the Master of Madness, the Sultan of Surprise / So don't be afraid, just look into my eyes," he sings in the chorus.

Alice Cooper's new album is produced by Bob Ezrin. The composition and recording of "Road" was handled by his current touring band, featuring Nita Strauss , Tommy Henrikson , and Ryan Roxie on guitar, Chuck Garric on bass, and Glen Sobel on drums.

Featuring 13 songs, the album Road will be released on August 25th and pre-orders are now available . See the cover and tracklist at the end of this article.

In January 2022, Alice Cooper promised two albums of "pure rock n' roll" for future release, with the second one still in the composition phase at the time. Read more here .
