Alice Cooper launches presidential campaign (again)

Musician has been running for US president since 1972.

Alice Cooper has begun his US presidential campaign, as he has done since 1972.

Cooper launched his first campaign in 1972 when he released the classic "Elected," in which he sings "I'm your top prime cut of meat, I'm your choice/ I wanna be elected/ I'm your Yankee doodle dandy in a gold Rolls Royce/ I wanna be elected."

For his 2024 platform, he declares in a newly released campaign video: “Well, I’m Alice Cooper and I’m a troubled man for hard times. I have absolutely no idea what to do, so I should fit right in.” Watch the video at the end of this article.

A description encourages members of the rock icon's Wild Party to "sign up to receive updates on the start of the campaign, virtual rallies, Q&A sessions, and more" at AliceforPresident.com .

At 76 years old, Cooper would be the youngest among current candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump , and the only rock star.
