William DuVall also commented on the band's success.
Alice In Chains vocalist William DuVall spoke about the band's resurrection and success. He joined the band in 2005.
Regarding the success of Alice In Chains, he said: “Well, you can’t predict that kind of thing. We didn’t know what it would be like. It was really about figuring it out as we went along. I think that’s the best way. Making plans is the best way for the universe to laugh at you. One thing at a time.”
William said it wasn't easy taking the place of vocalist Layne Staley , who died in 2002. "Yes, of course there were difficulties," he said. "But also... We knew what we were doing and what we had. We did two years of touring before stepping into the studio. So, we found our chemistry on stage from the beginning."
Alice In Chains has been touring in support of their sixth studio album, Rainier Fog , released last year. The band's first album in five years was also significant for several reasons. It was their first album on BMG and the first time they had recorded in their hometown of Seattle in over 20 years.
